![]() No matter, I agreed to the deposit and had a reservation set for 8:30pm in our own private alcove of the restaurant. I can see this being applicable for extremely large parties, but… for 10 guys-I found it a tad strange. ![]() I’ve eaten at top-shelf steakhouses all over the world and this is the first time this had been requested. I called to set up the reservation, spoke to the hostess over the phone and found it slightly odd that Louie’s requires a $10 per head deposit for parties of 10 or more people. The bachelor party attendees were quite excited about this choice, as it appeared that Louie’s was indeed prime! After reading many reviews and weighing all available options, I decided to make Louie’s Prime the main event for our kickoff evening. This particular crew consisted of 10 men including the groom who wanted to enjoy a nice relaxing getaway in the Poconos. I am the best man at an impending wedding and as such, took on the role of bachelor party orchestration. In fact, I seldom write reviews, but my extremely underwhelming and somewhat insulting experience at Louie’s Prime(less) has compelled me to do so. I try to give every establishment the benefit of the doubt and let. Moreīefore getting into the meat and potatoes of this review, let me first state that I’m reasonable and even keeled and have never complained about anything at a restaurant in my life. Very sincerely, a former very satisfied customer. and not meeting my expectations after years of great meals is a recipe for a a worsening reputation and all that comes with it. Not tasty, small portions (mashed potatoes and beet salad), very expensive and simply unreasonable prices (10% too high). To repeat customers like myself this meal was so disappointing and expensive that i won’t be returning without reading consensus positive reviews after the date of this posting. This restaurant has always been outstanding but pricey and now has been downgraded to average (average is not good) and priced even higher than some center city Philadelphia top restaurants. We would normally practically embarrass ourselves with high praise for the chef (s) after our meal at Louis’s Prime. ![]() The waitress ‘let it slip’ that the old chef JUST LEFT (not employed there anymore) and that another cook had been promoted along with a menu change! Here’s the problem. We both ordered ‘the Broadway’ (filet and crab cake with mashed potatoes and asparagus)($61.) The steaks were not cooked as ordered, nor fabulous, (I dipped my steak in the sauce to help it) the crab cakes were simply not good and the mashed potatoes were quite good but both lukewarm and an amazingly small portion (almost comically). Upon pointing out the description in the menu, she took the drink away again and after returning said ‘ I’m sorry we’re out of pears and apples, would you like something else? At this point I ordered the pumpkin martini. The waitress took the drink away and returned (with the same drink) and said ‘this is the fall sangria’. and I ordered the ‘fall sangria’ drink and it arrived without the pears and apples as described on the menu. Bread which I personally enjoyed, wasn’t served anymore. (From 2 weeks ago) Gone was the pumpkin soup (which was simply outstanding). OctoUpon arrival we noticed quite a few changes to the menu.
