“For tick hang, gangs bang bang, porno flick, block six. So the line from Kid Rock’s Bawaditaba, for instance, which goes:įor the time bombs ticking and the heads that hang All the gangs getting money and the heads that bang bang Wild mustangs the porno flicks All my homies in the county in cell block six The grits when there ain’t enough eggs to cook And for DB Cooper and money he took You can look for answers but that ain’t fun Now get in the pit and try to love someoneĬould very easily, to the person I pass in Central Park, sound like, So if I’m really racing at a 7:40 pace because of a great song, well then, my ability to sing/shout anything is impaired. Of course, the stronger the music, the faster I run, but also, the more inclined I am to sing, and the more I sound like I’m having a stroke. Depending on how fast I’m running, whether it’s flat or hilly, or whether I’m having an awesome run or a crappy run, my singing could be anything from operetta quality, to unintelligible gasps. ![]() (Prior to that, it was running with a CD player, which as we all know, sucks.) Since the first mp3 player I ever bought, the Creative Labs Nomad, which held a grand total of 32 megabytes of music, running and music went hand in hand. Fortunately, I’m using the New York Road Runner’s Club Training Program, which so far, is really spectacular.įor me, being a musical person, growing up with music and the arts as an integral part of everything in my life, my running just doesn’t work without music. Of course, this means putting in the miles. All signs on the magic running 8-ball point to it, as I’m in probably the best shape of my life, am actually training, as opposed to just saying “Yeah, I’ll run,” then not doing anything, and really following a plan. ![]() I’m also thinking that this is the year that I’m breaking 4:00. If you need to know more before you get going with SpongeMaster, then you can find out all about it at .uk/spongemaster.Have you joined my incredibly non-annoying, once-in-a-while email newsletter?Ī number of you have asked me if I’m training this year for the marathon. Bad news for me, good news for Seb who at the qualifying age of 7 knows considerably more about Spongebob Squarepants and his friends and watches Nicktoons far more frequently too.Īnyway, if you also happen to know more than me about the friendly little yellow fella, or should I say you know someone aged 15 or under who does, then you’re in with a chance – as yet Seb has failed to appear on the leaderboard but there is still time because you can continue to be a SpongeMaster every weekday until the 24th February (between the hours of 10am-4pm, on the hour, every hour – that’s a grand total of 60 chances to win!). Oh, and I’m not aged 15 or under either, which is another condition of entry. Suddenly I’m wishing my knowledge of Spongebob was slightly more encyclopaedic than ‘pineapples feature heavily…and he has a friend who knows karate…’. The more games you play, the more chance you have of winning the overall grand prize too, which of course includes the ubiquitous SpongeBob Goody Bag – but also a Nintendo Wii, and an iPod Touch. The top three on the leader board after each game will win a Spongebob Goody Bag with some great items from the Nickelodeon Store in Leicester Square (2nd and 3rd place) or a Kurio Watch (1st place). The faster you click the correct answer, the more points you get.Īnd even better than being allowed to play on a tablet AND watch TV at the same time (something that my kids are very excited about) there are prizes to be won for the highest point scorers. How does Spongemaster work?ĭuring each special episode, questions arrive on screen* (the TV one) whilst corresponding answer buttons arrive on the other screen (the Android or iOS enabled device one). Download it for free on iOS or Android, switch on Nicktoons, and let the fun begin. ![]() Having just said that out loud in my head, it sounds like some kind of new miracle kitchen cleaning product but what it actually is, is an app that has been created to run alongside special episodes of Spongebob Squarepants. ![]() Because there is a new app in town, and its called ‘SpongeMaster’. Well, this half term they can put that encyclopaedic knowledge to good use. You know when kids get obsessed with a tv programme, and they can tell you every little thing about every single episode? (Probably because they’ve watched it about 3000 times on repeat… how do kids do that without exploding, anyway?).
